There are so many social media platforms out there, which ones should you be using to get ahead with your business online?

Facebook

Who is not on Facebook? It is the largest platform and it dominates all the others. However, it is not all good news for business pages wanting to make an impression. As the largest platform Facebook also has the most leverage, and knowing this, uses algorithms which means you will probably need to be spending a little on ads for promoting your business. Posting regularly is necessary and organic reach can be obtained by posting more often. Some tips on Facebook are here

Twitter

The go-to platform for the media, that’s television, newspaper journalists, and magazines. If you want to promote your business via any of these, then Twitter is an excellent platform for you. Posting multiple times, a day and using hashtags effectively is the way to reach out on Twitter. Think of it as texting and try to have conversations. Check out our blog on Twitter

LinkedIn

If you like to do your business in a more formal way, using networking and talking directly to other business people, then LinkedIn is where you will find likeminded souls. You can use LinkedIn personally or have a business page. Posting regularly will get you noticed more. Read our blog all about LinkedIn.

Pinterest

This platform has long been regarded as the way to reach out to female purchasers. As the feed is a view of pictures, you need to have sufficient visual content on your website when you pin it. This platform works best for businesses selling products or services particularly aimed at women. Pins should be posted daily.

Instagram

Another of the visual platforms, as the feed is a series of photographs, you will need to supply a lot of them. Posting daily is the norm as is using large numbers of hashtags. High quality photography is desired, though these days a mobile phone will give you enough quality too. Read our blogs on Instagram here and here
